According to a new leak, the Samsung Galaxy S5 which comes stacked with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, will receive the latest Android 4.4.3 update by the end of this month.
Last few weeks, Google released the highly anticipated Android 4.4.3 KitKat, an update designed to fix a number of bugs in Android 4.4.2 KitKat and bring some improvements.
Most of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat powered smartphones and tablets, such as all the Nexus devices and Google Play Edition devices like HTC One M7 and HTC One M8, are already updated to Android 4.4.3 KitKat. Motorola has also rolled-out the 4.4.3 update to its Moto E, G, and X smartphones.
Now, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 are in the queue to get the update. According to a leaked document found by Android Geeks, both the Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900H and SM-G900F variants will receive Android 4.4.3 update this month, and its predecessor, the Galaxy S4, to follow next month.
The leaked document reported that the update for Galaxy S5 models SM-G900F and SM-G900H is being ‘Completed’ with an ETA of June and update for Galaxy S4 model GT-I9506 is currently in ‘Final testing’ with an ETA of July.
Android 4.4.3 KitKat is not a very big update, so don’t get your hopes too high. In Nexus and Google Play edition devices, the 4.4.3 update arrived with bug fixes, minor performance boosts, and a redesigned Phone Dialer app with card-based interface.
You possibly won’t see a change in the phone dialer, because Samsung don’t want to change the current layout of their Phone Dialer app. So we can expect both the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S5 to receive the 4.4.3 update with bug fixes and minor performance boosts.
Although the dates sound as though they could be correct, the document originated from an anonymous tipster. So we are advising you to take the report with a pinch of salt.
